Saturday's Photos...The Dangers of Fire...

By
Real Estate Agent with Aubrey and Associates Realty

We had a fire that caused a great scare in our community a few days ago.  I drove by and took some photos, some I had to take while driving down Interstate 15, and to be honest, I didn't realize how much my windows needed to be cleaned.  This fire was determined to be human caused, but in honestly this was one that I would call an honest accident, an overheated water well pump ignited and flashed to the dry grasses.  Anyway here are some photos that I took earlier this week.

This Shot shows just how lucky some homeowners were.

This and the previous shot were taken from the Rest Area, so I was able to stop the car and get out.  Notice how unpredictable a wildfire can be.

This is one more shot I took driving down Interstate 15.

Tony & Darcy,

We have had some rain lately and we are so thankful for that. We had your conditions last year and it was not pretty. Last Labor day Bob and I had planned a couple of nights at one of our favorite places Hyatt Lost Pines in Bastrop, Texas the Wildfires were raging as well all the firefighters stayed at the Hotel. Here is a pciture

Wildfires can be scary I glad you folks are fine! Take care and have a great weekend!

Each year a portion of our country seems to experience significant wildfires.  But this year has to rank up there with the worst.  Americans are a resilient bunch.  Somehow, we will reach deep down in ourselves, and endure this as well!

Tony and Darcy,  this should seve as a reminder to the folks in the Cedar City area to BE VERY CAREFUL as your conditions are ideal for a wildfire to spread out of control very rapidly.  I liked the pictures and yes those fire seem to burn wherever the wind takes them!

Yolanda, We are getting some very timely rain showers that are helping immensely, but it won't put an end to the dangers unless we get a steady soaking type rain that goes on for several days.  That is an ominous photo!

Myrl, We sure are in prime conditions here for wildfires.  It is amazing what a great job people do in stepping up.  We also seem to bounce back from set backs very quickly.  I just hope that we can continue to get rain!

Bruce, It is scary, they had a fire up near Salt Lake that a backhoe digging had a spark on a windy day and 2000 acres went up in smoke.  It is amazing how dry things have gotten!

That is an accident, that isn't what I would call human caused. But, I'm glad they got it out and we didn't see a repeat of Colorado.

These fires ares so frightening and I hope you start to see the rain you need soon.  In May New York state had a no burn rule for the whole month - I have never seen that before.  Stay safe and hopefully there will be no more fires this year.

HI Tony and Darcy - those are intersting shots, and you are correct about how unpredictable a wild fire can be. Glad it was contained.

Roy, Thank you, We too are hoping for a nice rain storm!

Joshua, So very true!

Todd, I agree!  I too am glad that we didn't repeat what happened in Colorado, I hope and pray that no one else will have to go through what those residents have gone through!

Debra, It seems as though much of the United States is under extreme fire conditions.  I hope that no one else has to deal with wildfires!

Sharon, Thank you, and we are very glad that it contained and out now!

Tony & Darcy,  Thanks for the fire shots, but above all else be safe.  When I heard of fires I thought of you and Wanda as the only Utah people I know.  Certainly don't want to loose you.

Mary, We were safe, this particular fire was scary in that it moved extremely fast, but no lives were lost.

Tony & Darcy... your post is a wake-up call. Never take anything for granted. Accidents happen but the consequences are somebody pays and the damage is significant.

Be safe out there.

Dale, Thank you!  It has been a lot worse in many other areas than in our area.  We are still grateful to those fire fighters who work so dilligently to fight these fires!

Patricia, The sad thing is that can all happen so quickly!  It only took a matter of minutes for this fire to get completely out of control.  You do really have to be careful!

Bob, That could well be the problem!
