9 Comments on An inexpensive Rabbit repellent and other garden pests
Good morning Sharon and good call on the vinegar. I remember seeing that once and forgot all about it. I will be giving it a try!
I wonder if that would work on gophers. Had a gopher issue last year on one of my listings. Pesky little things.
Sharon,
What a good tip...Cute is not cute when they eat your hard work...Wishing you a great Sunday and a wonderful week. A
Did not know that one Sharon. The rabbit I have seen in my backyard stood so still I did not even know he was alive. Protection againts the hawks I suppose. I used to have the caterpillars eat my tomato plants.
Natural remedies are always the best way to go. I am in the process of learning about heirloom seeds and gardens and hope to know enough by planting time next year. With all the wildlife we have around here, I'll need all the help I can get keeping the critters away from my food.
Randy-Me too.
Frank-It won't hurt to try.
Alexandra-It sure isn't. The bunny has eaten several of the blossoms on my zucchini and also I found out by them eating them they also like creeping phlox. So I hope this works.
Gary-I didn't know til I read an article on it. So I hope it works. Tomato worms can be a big problem as well.
Leslie-I couldn't agree more. I love to grow flowers and veggies from seed. I do know with wildlife deer are truly destructive but there are others as well. I will be anxious to hear how you make out with everything
Okay, I will try this...I have been trying to live in harmony with those rascally rabbits - but they have eaten two crops of pea plants and beans. Oh, and chewed the new carrot tops to the ground. I'll give it a whirl...thanks fellow gardener. :)
Hi Debb-I have too but it is too much work to have it destroyed by a critter no matter how cute plus it isn't living in harmony when they are not being harmonious with us as well. I will be trying it myself so I hope it works as well. It is still being harmonious just protecting our hard work and not hurting anything. You are welcome.
Thanks Sharon, this may save on some fencing, another similar tip that we found successful in our cabin to get rid of raccoon was pop cans full of ammonia with a wick.
