Summer Water Safety Make Rules For The Pool

It's summertime and one of the refreshing ways to cool off, is a dip in the pool or lake. However, be careful of the dangers lurking wherever there is water.

We are only into the early weeks of summer and already we have heard of several children drowned or near drowned.
We were also surprised to learn that it only takes 10 seconds; 10 seconds;  for a drowning to occur and that contrary to popular belief, people do not wave or yell for help.

We all have to be very mindful of our children and each other.
One of the incidents happened in a backyard pond! Children are fearless and feel invincible, it is up to us to keep them safe.

Remember the water safety rules and never swim alone.

Have fun this summer in the water but play safe!

Al and Peggy that is excellent advice.  Water can be fun, but it can also be deadly if not respected.

Al & Peggy- We can never be reminded too much about the need for being vigilant when you'are around the pool.  We have to keep our eyes on the little ones at all times.

Good advice, Al & Peggy.  As Kathy said we can never hear that advice too often.  Last year Erie a seven year old boy drowned in Lake Erie.  So sad.

Excelent advice Al and Peggy.  We try and teach Alec pool safety and etiquette when we are in the pool.

This year we have already heard of too many mishaps with water. The one that hit us the hardest was the one with the backyard pond. Yes, it is a mini pool even if not for swmming!!
