Have you Seen the Famous Hollywood Sign?

 

Visiting the famous Hollywood Sign I live and sell real estate in Southern California and since seeing the “Forever Marilyn” statue in Palm Springs last week, I decided it would be fun to drive to Hollywood CA and go and see the famous “Hollywood Sign” up on the hill. Yes, this is the one they are always talking about in the news and showing the pictures of. I guess I have the “Hollywood Bug” so I decided to drive there. It was so much fun!

Then we drove down Hollywood Blvd. and turned up Sunset Blvd. While driving, I saw a lot of signs and famous places to shoot pictures of. I really wanted to see Grauman’s Chinese Theater and did get a couple of pictures. There is so much Hollywood frenzy that I decided to go back in the fall and park and walk the hall of fame ….and of course take more pictures of Hollywood. Hi Marilyn,

 It has changed a lot but the sign is at 3000 Canyon Lake Drive and Grauman's Theater is on Hollywood Blvd and most everything else is within a block or two. I went to Hollywood and Vine but not really anything there now.

I had a fun day and there were thousands of tourists there so we are going back in the fall on a weekday instead.

Hi Larry,

I like the Hollywood area and we drove up in the Hollywood hills. There are a lot of neat houses but talk about a lot of hairpin turns. It was a really fun day.

Yes Hollywood is pretty neat and most of us grew up with a fascination to Hollywood and it's stars. I still love to watch the old B & W movies on television. The actors and actresses were so different than the ones today.

Hi Karen,

There was so much traffic so I took the Capitol Records Building while getting off the freeway..shotgun side of course. Sometimes it is impossible to try to go back and get a better shot but it was OK. I had so much fun up at the Hollywood sign and it was really pretty easy to get to. I can now cross that off my bucket list.

Hi Steve,

Ok you can protect the sign. Last month some vandals graffitied the sign on a Saturday night and they put it out on the news television Sunday am and some professional painters went to the sign right then and re-painted it. People in California love the sign...well most do anyway.
