23 Comments on Camera Wars, Tammy Made Me Do It
Either picture is good. There really shouldn't be a real issue regarding cameras. Maybe talking with a professional, not a store rep, who takes massive amounts of pictures would be helpful to you
Larry, The Coolpix is cool and I have had several. I just want a little more control and clarity and that comes with upgrading.
Jordon, I do tons of research before a purchase so when I get the product, I feel like I know it, Now learning the many functions is another story.
Mike, Tammy's camera did wonderful and I know she will be providing great shots for us to see.
WOW! Debbie. You have convince me to get another camera too. My Nikon Coolpix just won't cut it anymore. I too was thinking about buying that Kodac 5100, but your Cannon Rebel T3i looks just as great. I believe it's the wide angle that makes a big difference too. Thanks for Sharing.
Doug, That is my next step in fact. I signed up for 2 photography classes and can't wait to learn more. I never took bad photos because I understood lighting and angles and the such. I just want them to be even better.
Jerry, Join the camera wars. Either camera is super. Maybe you are wearing out your lens too.
New camera looks like it's doing it's job - second picture better - if it's easy to use I am in as well! Regards Dave
Morning Debbie -
We like our Lumix Panasonic and use it much more than our Canon. Keep snapping those pics :)
David, I think the new camera has a better, wider lens and truer colors. I did no photo editing.
John, You make excellent pictures so you are my motivator.
Wow, Debbie! Who knew that auto-shoot cameras had a 5000 shot lens life? I sure didn't. I really like the photo taken with your new Canon camera. Nice.
Hi Debbie - You couldn't have gone wrong with either choice - they'll both do a nice job. If you're feeling like you want to take it even further, you might want to consider a powerful photo editor like Photoshop Elements - I know it has a reputation as hard to use, but Elements is quite a bit easier than Photoshop CS5, quite a bit less expensive, and does everything you'll likely ever need. And it's worth a few hours for the extra quality.
You can't go wrong with the Canon EOS Rebel T3i. I have been considering it for quite some time myself. Although I will admit, I like the look of the first Coolpix photo just a little bit more. Both Nikon and Canon produce excellent models and it's really difficult to make a bad choice with either of them. Best of luck with your new toy, keep us updated! I love it.
Beth and Bud, Coolpix is a good camera but it was wearing out. I think the color on teh Canon is crisper and more true. I will update you as I learn to use it.
Carie, Me too. Thanks for your opinion.
Dick, I will give that some thought. It sounds like it would be the crowning touch.
Oh, bummer. I just read Tammy's post the other day. And, I got jealous....oh, yes, jealous. But, I love my Nikon Cool Pix camera, and I just got the iPhone which has just about as many pixels as my camera......Sigh.
Now, the next thing I NEED is a great printer, but I might need to go back to the business plan, Debbie. Bummer.
I'm using the Nikon Coolpix L110, so my next step will have to be a full out DSLR. I was really happy to read what you found out. I take a ton of pics, too, and I need something that will hold up. The second picture does look better...everything about it. I'll post when I finally make the decision to upgrade. Thanks for sharing your information.
You know the memory cards make a difference, too. The best I can compare it to is like the different film speeds we use to have...100 IAS, 200 IAS, 400 IAS, ect. The higher the speed ( not the size ) of the memory card, the better the card.
Suzanne, Isnt' it always something? I love my HPprinter by the way and all it can do. It is an air printer that interacts with my iPad and iPhone. All in good time, right?
Debbie, I did not know that about the cards. I did know that high def cards were better. There is so much to know but I am getting there.
