Moana Stadium Demo Party in RenoThe City of Reno would like to invite the public to a Moana Stadium demo party in Reno tomorrow, July 10, 2012.  The old baseball stadium hosted minor league games as well as collegiate wood-bat club games over the past 60+ years.  However, it is now time to tear it down to make way for the new Moana Springs Aquatic Center and Sports Park.

Beginning at 4pm on Tuesday, local Reno station BOB 93.7 FM will be broadcasting live from Moana Stadium.  Kids can join in on the organized activities scheduled, Reno food trucks will be on site selling their fabulous food to anyone in attendance and members of the Reno Police and Fire Department will be on hand.  Demolition will begin just after 5pm.  The public is welcome to watch at a safe distance.

The new Moana Springs Aquatic Center and Sports Park will still allow baseball games to be played on their fields, but will now include fields for soccer, an aquatic center and an area for other community-friendly activities.  Instead of being used strictly for minor league and college baseball, the new Moana Springs will be available for athletes of all ages and abilities to use and enjoy in the Reno area.

Say good-bye to the old and help ring in the new at the Moana Stadium demo party in Reno tomorrow, July 10th, from 4pm to 5:30pm.  Help celebrate a welcome change to the neighborhood that enhances life here in the Sierra Nevadas.
