16 Comments on Making Local History Leap Off The Page-Stories From The Field
Cindy, I love getting consumer contacts about our Localism posts. Definitely adds to the enjoyment when you know someone is out there reading them and giving feedback.
Cindy,
I think that's absolutely fantastic that you've been contacted about your local posts. Members of the community remember that when it comes time to do real estate.
Rich
Bliz-they featured one of my posts Little Read School House Sydenstricker School in a message to all of the members of the Upper Pohick League.
Rich-it's nice when there is recognition for our blogs from those who are doing all of the work to preserve our local history. I celebrate the small successes as I did when Sydenstricker School got their VA Historic Designation. I posted about it on FB when it happened in June.
And you KNOW that if any of those folks need a Realtor, you know they are going to call you. You've connected with them.
Tammy-the good news is I know my posts are connecting when I get the contact messages from Active Rain.
It's great to get feedback, especially stories of their own. Also, writing history and finding out more about a local place is always interesting!
Cindy, it is a great feeling when you know that the community is reading your posts. I just found out last week that my neighbor reads my posts and gave me a nice compliment....a good feeling for sure.
So you are a real estate broker, writer and now you can add historian to your list. I do enjoy reading your local history posts.
Bud and Beth-I really liked getting the email from John with the memories his step-dad passed on about his time at Sydenstricker School.
Rebecca-your posts on your local community and shops are top notch. I'm sure they have brought extra recognition to the area.
Chris Ann-received a call today from someone who was given my name by a local shop owner in Occoquan. They had read my posts on the town and told them to call me.
Cheryl-you have lots of history in your area. Have some fun with it.
Cindy, wow, that is really, really cool. it is exciting that these folks are seeing your posts and sending you comments definitely brings this history to life with a greater depth. Love it.
