Have you read the Millionaire Real Estate Agent? There are some great tidbits of information in there and I am constantly fighting with hiring talented people. They are so hard to come by! If it was easy, EVERYone would be doing it right!? Once I find someone that is talented, I fight managing them. My personality profile puts me in the "Seagull" management group. I just drop and fly away...drop and fly away...drop and...(I don't squawk and fuss...just drop and fly). ;) You get the picture! Recently I took a fantastic class called BOLD!. It is open to KW agents and non-KW agents and I suggest that everyone take it. If you are interested, message me and I will tell you where the next one is in your area!! During BOLD (a six week course), I took 30 listings and put 20 properties under contract for a total of FIFTY transactions! Listings...LOTS of Leads...sound the alarms!!! NO LEVERAGE! I hired an admin at the start of BOLD as this has been a long time coming, and thought she was going to be good. When it took her three hours to prepare listing paper work and it was 85% incorrect, I knew she wasn't the one. I was week three into BOLD and really didn't have a choice as I was getting all kinds of listings and buyers!! It is AMAZING what picking up the phone does and making 100+ contacts a week can do for you and your business. NOW I had to put on the breaks as I didn't want to lose customer service (or compromise my belief system)! Lead generation REALLY gets results folks! Nothing hurts my soul more than bad customer service either..........
Win-Win. . . or no deal
Integrity. . . do the right thing
Customers. . . always come first
Commitment. . . in all things
Communication. . . seek first to understand
Creativity. . . ideas before results
Teamwork. . . together everyone achieves more
Trust. . . starts with honesty
Success. . . results through people
Hiring out of desperation is TERRIBLE and I know that. As Gary says...slow to hire, quick to fire. I just...couldn't...bring myself to do it! So I hired someone else. Now I have TWO employees and my first hire has gone into a different position in my company and she is doing OK...still slooooow. The leverage is getting there and we are at about day 20 into our first 100 days training plan with hire number two. I have a showing assistant who is getting his license today. LEVERAGE is SO IMPORTANT PEOPLE! Without it our business suffers! Our customer service suffers. Our LIFESTYLE suffers!!! God-Family-Business. Right now I have two babies (2 & 4) and I would LOVE to spend so much more time with them, but instead, I am running around showings houses all day and night...listing appointments...contracts... I will close over 100 sides this year. The leverage is coming. WATCH OUT! :)
I hope you enjoyed my blog post. I don't do this regularly, but I am going to start!!!
