What turns A warm lead call cold?
I received a call from one of my business sphere members the other day and was quite excited. Not only was this the first referral from this source; it was also an opening door on his huge sphere of influence.
I called the referral immediately and received instructions on his voice mail to e-mail him. I did so and awaited a phone call from him. That evening I received a phone call with a lot of questions. Before getting into answering his multitude of questions I asked;
- Are you currently working with another agent?
- No!
- Is your house currently listed?
- Yes!
How can you not be working with another agent if your house is listed?
"I have a communication problem with my current agent." He told me.
I informed him, that while his house was listed with another broker, I was not able to advise him on any course of action regarding his listing with said broker. I told him, that I would be glad to help him in anyway I could after his listing expired or was canceled.
He thanked me for being so candid and that he would call me after he canceled his listing.
The great lead turned cold and the lines of communication must have improved since the seller has never called me back.
Sometimes ethics do help you sleep better, if you can afford a bed....
