Not too scary... :-) Thanks for sharing! You allowed me a mental trip back to my downstate days!
Good morning Joanna,
Wow...thanks for sharing..he does look docile but I wouldn't want to put him on my porch either!
Cool photo and one of my favorite neighborhoods in Manhattan too...............oh the stories I could tell! LOL.
Looks more like a big cat of some type to me.... Isn't it odd how we each see something different in the same piece of art. Happy Wordless Wednesday!
Joanna - I absolutely love gargoyles. Every time I see one, I try to take a photo. Here's a gargoyle from Bayeux, France!
Hi Brenda, I'm so happy I inspired you to take a trip down memory lane.
I kinda like him on a porch-he reminds me of Burt Lahr in The Wizard of Oz!
He does look docile and a little like the cowardly lion!
Hey Roger, I bet you have a lot of good stories.
I love gargoyles too and he does have personality, doesn't he?
Yes, he is either laughing or yawning or maybe even singing!
Hi Sally, I love gargoyles too and I take lots of photos when I see them. And, I love Bayeaux and, did you see the tapestry?
Joanna - I did see the Bayeux Tapestry. Have you seen it? It really is amazing. Actually, the initial reason for visiting Bayeux was to see the Tapestry, but I was delighted to see the Cathedral there just crawling with Gargoyles!!! The bonus is that Bayeux is such a pretty town.
Hi Ellen, yes the green moss has given him a great patina.
Hi Sally, I have been to Bayeux and to the Normandy and Brittany area of France-I remember Bayeux being beautiful and the tapestry incredible. I would love to go back to France soon.
Hey Joanna, Dropping by to say hi and wish you an awesome weekend my friend.
