map from Las Vegas to Mesquite, NvMilitary Relocation and Retirement

Mesquite, Nv is approximately 70 miles from Nellis Air Force Base.  Yet a drive to work on the base takes about the same time from Mesquite, Nv as it would from many of the areas in busy Las Vegas.  I-15 is a straight shot from Mesquite, Nv to northeast Vegas.  As a retirement option for military personnel, Mesquite is a welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of the Las Vegas area yet close enough to military facilities to take advantage of the benefits.

My son-in-law is in the military and I understand the frustrations involved with frequent relocation.  My past experience as a Realtor with an office located right outside Travis Air Force Base in California taught me about military relocation and how to prepare my clients for a move.  More than half of my transactions involved VA loans.

Mesquite is about 40 miles from St George Utah - they have VA clinics there also.  If you need tests or work done at a St George hospital, the VA might pre approve it - you can use your VA benefits that way, too.  Salt Lake City Utah has a complete state of the art facility.  It is about 4 hours from Mesquite, but makes a nice road trip for annual checkups and some sightseeing on the side.

Great post, Virginia! You make a great point about Mesquite being more convenient than Las Vegas even if it's not closer. So true,

Yes, it is sure a lot easier to live in Mesquite and drive to St George or Las Vegas to take advantage of military benefits.
