Scheduled Maintenance, July 17th, 9:30pm Pacific

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with ActiveRain Corp.

ActiveRain will be running a few updates to improve functionality on Tuesday, July 17th at 9:30pm Pacific. Since we are also improving the back-end, AR will be inaccessible for approximately 2 hours or less.

Many of you have noticed some annoying HTML code showing up in your emailed comment notifications.  Fixing this is on the agenda and we appreciate the patience since the problem first started last week.

Thank you for your support!

The 'email post' function has been reported to the IT team and will be fixed soon but I don't believe it is in this release.

Miss Kerrie:  At the risk of sounding like a brat... the HTML email problem has been going on longer than "a week."  But, when it did arrive on the scene... perhaps two or three weeks ago... it just came out of nowhere.  Like many things that go wrong here... it came as a result of AR "fixing" something else.

By the way... I am still waiting on the "compromise" that Bob talked about regarding the horrid change that was made to all of each of our posts except our latest one.

I mean, of course, the change that turned all of everyone's gorgeous VISIBLE posts into "snippets."  All the photos, all the imaginative graphics that folks worked so hard to put together... are now hidden.

It has made something that used to be enjoyable... and very easy... scanning the posts... and seeing the previous posts of others simply by scrolling down the page... into something that is a real pain. I still find that very, very irritating, and so do many others.  It also makes it much more difficult to refer a client to, and to find out about, a Rainer in an area we are not familiar with.

I woud compare it to going to a book store and seeing only one book with the "jacket" on... and all the rest of the books in that section with missing jackets... showing only the hardback covers with just the name on the spine of the book.  You have to physically open each book to see what is in it.  So much for impulse buying.

I suggest showing perhaps the first four or five paragraphs, along with the photos or graphics that are in those first paragraphs... and then a link that says "to read further"... which, when clicked on, leads to the rest of the post.
