Ganges, Salt Spring Island

Back in 1974, when the provincial government created the Islands Trust, the zoning/bylaws were created on each Gulf Island, to ensure the Trust's mandate ("to preserve & protect" the beauties of the Gulf Islands, for the benefit of all B.C. residents), and so Ganges Village cannot spread beyond its designated commercial core.

There is a seaside village & an "upper village".

Boaters who drop into Ganges Harbour's two marinas are part of the hustle/bustle in the summer season...especially on Saturday...that famed Market in the Park is a huge draw to Salt Spring! It's an arts based economy on the Island, & the Saturday Market is a big part of this.

There's also a popular foodie market on Tuesday afternoons (same location as the Sat Market) & also a Wed morning market in the United Church "green", between Hereford & McPhillips Avenues. Lucky Islanders...& visitors!

Galleries, book stores, gift shops, clothing boutiques, coffee/tea choices, restaurants, kayak rentals, scooter rentals, bike shop, plus the usual business opportunities found in most towns...it's all here, & all delivered with that unique Salt Spring panache.

Wander into the tourist centre for free maps, B&B info, hotel & resorts info...things to do & to enjoy. Hiking in Ruckle Park, picnic & swim at Vesuvius Beach or at Cusheon Lake...more ideas? Call me, for "Li's List"!

Looking for real estate information, perhaps some viewings to see what's out there? Call me! Maps, all current real estate information, knowledge of both inventory & of trends...benefit from my expertise.

Successfully connecting buyers with sellers since 1989, your best interests are my motivation.

How may I help you to buy your special Salt Spring Island property?

Aha, John...you need to know that there are a lot of U.S. buyers here, from the sunbelt states, who prefer to be here from late May to late Sept, and then back in the desert options.   Referrals welcome!
