I agree that this is a great idea for the practical way you can bring all of your blog posts together and also for the tangible aspect of being able to recognize the body of work you have created.
fabulous idea.. I love it!
Great idea, definitely a post I have bookmarked and will use in the future to put together an ebook.
What a great idea... I'm bookmarking this. I've actually been saving my Facebook posts because they are mostly about my kids, funny things they say and do and the daily goings on of our lives, sort of like a journal. It would be nice to have them printed up nicely. Thanks for the idea.
Gretchen
Rene - I'm pretty busy this weekend, but call me on Monday or anytime next week.
Gretchen - Perfect application. You've got it all written!
Tim - Me neither, til I thought of this.
Morgan - Great
Alan - Hope it spurs you on to great heights!
Eileen - Yeah... LOVE those books.
Chris & Dick - This is kind of like electronic scrapbooking.
Do they give you an HTML code?? This is a good idea and lovely thought. Thanks for sharing this with us Sally!
Carla - Yes - I used the HTML code to place the book into this post. You can also share it on Facebook = they have a link right in the directions.
Certainly a great idea and what a wonderful way to remember it all. Good luck and thanks for the idea.
Sally, that's a brilliant idea! I don't have enough quality blogs yet, but knowing that they're going into a book, I can step my game up. Thanks!
I have thought about it, but I still need more content!!
Sally, Congratulations on your book! What a great idea -- thanks so much for sharing it with us! It seems like a very worthwhile project!!
Hi Sally,
Oh the wonderful things the internet allows us to do!
Composing your own low run book is a marvelous experience.
Did you make a few copies for family and friends?
Phil
Charles - You are welcome.
Christine - You could make your listing presentation here, if you wanted. I have made very classy ones for about 5 of my high end clients, with one photo of their home per page, all on black backgrounds, with a peek-a-boo black linen cover. The cover peeks at the front photo of their home. It's my closing gift.
Joy - You are right - and I will read it any day! I made one for my Mom, as well - who is the subject of many of my favorite posts!
Eric - Yep - blog what is in your heart.
Evelyn - I have a hard time sticking to real estate, I must admit. But my real estate related posts are all copied onto my webpage. I have a section "for buyers" and "for sellers", with appropriate posts inserted. I also have my favorites there, under a section "who is this sally dunbar, anyway". Prospective clients seem to find that section and they comment on it when they call... "I have read every one of your stories, and you are my realtor. I know I will like you. I lost a brother too...." etc.
Charita - Me too! It was the photos that was cumbersome, but at Shutterfly it was so much easier to transfer them one at a time. I did this book in one day, then tweaked and repositioned pages and fiddled with the backgrounds over the next few days.
Maureen - I see a book of your staging projects coming right up....
Phil - I only made one for me and one for my Mom. This book was $73 to print, because its about 50 or 60 pages and is hardbound. I have made smaller ones that are paperback for $25. Plus this is really only a book that me, my kids and my Mom would want to revel in. It's a bit self-indulgent, I must admit.
Dawn - Are you kidding??? With 300,000 points, I bet you have something good in there.
I have been thinking of an eBook for some time. I also looked into helping set up my Dad with self publishing where you can print each book when it is ordered . I wish I knew about this when Dad was alive because he started writing his memoirs . I might look into making a book out of it just for me.
Gita - What prompted me to make this was a 200 page paperback book a distant cousin made of old family writings over the past 100 years, including photos, pics of the family crest, a copy to the deed to the family homestead on 1905 etc. It was so cool, but was mostly writing. she made hers at Blurb.com, and it cost about $75 to by the copy of the paperback book, about 6" X 8" in size. It's a perfect solution for memoirs.
