19 Comments on Did Anyone Watch PROPERTY WARS Last Night? My TV Review . . .
Oh great more stupid stuff going on in my market. Joy oh joy. We'll have to not take those phone calls!
Hi Anna B -- if you've not watched the show, you might find it entertaining, at least you'll see your market on the telly!
I never even heard of it Carla. Of course now that I've found I can watch some television from the 60s on netflix, after I see the weather every morning (which is a re-run, hot with chance of afternoon thundershowers), I just watch netflix when I'm not working or playing. Right now we are watching the original Dark Shadows.
Hey Tammy -- my son is watching the original Dark Shawdows series too! Then he'll see the Tim Burton flick. And trust me, you're not missing anything with Property Wars.
Carla - Just like "Flip that House," such shows make the impossible appear simple, and they do it in an hour or less--with, of course, lots of fabricated drama.
I haven't seen it, and after your review I think I will take a pass and go read a book.
Makes for more good ratings and more unrealistic ways to buy a home on investment. Soon we will get the buyers who want to become investors since they've seen how to do it on HGTV....you know, like the rest of the shows that show just how "realistic" buying and selling is in the "real" market...
Carla I am happy I took the time to read your review - I don't know what I'll do to enjoy the time I've saved :)
Carla,
Based on your review, it would seem that property wars is destined for the dustbin soon.
Rich
Glad I missed the opportunity to watch Property Wars Sounds like the TV producers are starting to get desperate for ideas.
I didn't see it, but I agree completely with the nutiness of these types of shows. I hate them all.
Carla... I haven't heard about this program but I sure appreciate the heads up... who needs this nonsense?
Carla,
Just more trash TV.
Hi John . . . fabricated drama, you got that right!!
Hey Kathy -- I'm reading a book by Art Linkletter circa 1957 "Kids Say the Darndest Things" (my son found in at Goodwill for $2.00). Now THAT was reality TV at it's finest, and it's also a good read!!
Hi Brenda . . . very unrealistic.
Hey Karen -- you're welcome LOL
Hi Richard . . . let's hope so!
Hey Cindy -- desperate is right!!
Hi Karen . . . it's something I love to hate, purely trash TV
Hey Peggy -- I hope no one actually buys property this way
Hi Pamela . . . so true
Have you ever been to a Trustee Sale? I can tell from your blog that you haven't. The properties sold at a Trustee Sale are NOT marketed. One can NOT see the inside of the house prior to a purchase. Properties sold at the Trustee Sale are not for the average home buyer. They are purchased by investors, like the ones in the show. Perhaps before you spew out a bunch of garbage you THINK MIGHT be right, you should do your research.
Hey Ali -- PRIOR TO THE TRUSTEE SALE the home was more then likely available For Sale. After the notice of default, most people try to sell their home and those notices go out to all the vultures in the area too. They bird-dog properties all the time.
I don't care what kind of sale it is. It's still a TERRIBLY bad, canned, scripted show. And my opinion, is based on the fact that it's a crappy barf-o-tastic show that is so formulatic and simple it makes the equation 2 + 2 = 4 seem complicated
Hi Carla --- didn't see nor have I heard of this show. Some of these Real Estate shows may be fun to watch but strictly for entertainment or the laugh factor and certainly REALITY rarely, if ever, enters the picture. I think on some level some of these programs have made the suggestion of professional staging easier to approach with some clients.
Hi Carla, I can't watch that kind of contrived 'Reality' tv. I just end up yelling at the screen, so it's not worth my time. Great review, very accurate for that type of show!
