From sprinkler systems to title insurance, our clients turn to us for everything and we need to know how to address their problems.

A prime example is a pending sale I currently have. The sprinkler system did not work during the home inspection, so this afternoon I will be going out for the third time to meet my client and make sure that this has been resolved. We need to be sure that the sprinkler system is working since it was stated in the multiple listing that there is a sprinkler system on the property.

Another example is title insurance.........I received a call this afternoon asking about the new Florida closing statement. A client received a preliminary copy and thought he read that the buyer pays for the title insurance. On the new HUD, it lists the buyer pays in one area and in another shows a credit to the buyer for that fee. As a Realtor, we have to be able to answer these questions and deal with an assortment of issues.

In our area sprinklers are not included in a home inspection.  In the high desert that could get quiet pricey.  You're right we are expected to wear many hats and have the right answers at all times.  Jack of all trades king / queen of none :)

No sprinkler systems in our area except for really high end homes... What we all deal with  may be different, but REALTORS do so many things it is truly amazing. My husband keeps asking me ... " now why is that your job?"  he is right! but it is how business gets done!

Barbara-Jo, that's the part I actually like best, if somebody has a problem and I can with confidence give them a good explanation, and when I hang up the phone I have the feeling I really helped them. Great sense of being needed, who doesn't like that?!
