12 Comments on A little French country by the Lake in Granbury TX
Hi Tessa ~ I love the look of this lakefront condo! The view is to die for, and your staging really makes it sophisticated and very cozy at the same time ... not an easy feat to accomplish :-)
The dining table style is really fun and the blue accents you used throughout are perfect. What a fun pelican!!
Hi Maureen! I orginally planned on using some of the bright greens that are so popular, but the sofa with the blue and brown pillows sealed my color palette and blue it was. It's funny because I love blue but was trying to do something a little different here.
The blue works to bring out the lakeview and the artwork I chose reflects that too. Thank you Overstock.com!
Isn't he great? Right after I bought this I saw another pelican at Tuesday Morning, but it wasn't as nice as this one!
The builder wanted leather and initially was not sure if he liked my choices but once he saw it all together I got the thumbs up :)
I've been MIA here for awhile but will try to get back in the groove ... thanks so much for commenting, hope all is well in Portland!
It turned out beautiful, Tessa. You should be very proud. I, too, like that pelican. Perfect selection.
Kathy
Tessa - You had me at French Country! You've done such a lovely job here. The faded French linen look is perfect for this setting, and I love the blue accents. I watched the video on your website, and the Master Bedroom is delightful. I see you continued the French theme throughout, and it looks just perfect!
Yes, the ocean artwork works wonderfully. I suspect these homes will fly off the shelf!
Kathy thank you so much for your kind words.... I appreciate you taking the time to comment!
Sally it's a hot hot trend right now isn't it? I did try to keep it subtle and not over do it but it was fun and thank goodness too for HomeGoods!! Appreciate your comments very much. Good to see you!
When the builder initally didn't get it,the realtor reminded him that women were going to make the decision on buying these condos and she was right. The two neighbors who saw it were both women and they loved it and the potential buyer who needed to see it furnished before writing a contract was also a retired female. Helps to know your target buyer!
Love that DR table Tessa! And of course the pelican...how cute is he!
Makes me miss the water! Love that pelican Tessa and your work is beautiful as always!
HI Shar! Thank you! It was the perfect size for this small dining area. The realtor and builder wanted a round table but the only size that would fit would have been a 36" round and that would not have worked. As this was the only dining area we needed to show they could seat at least 6 people in a pinch. This little rectangular table fit perfectly!
Karen it was fortunate that we've had enough rain this year so the lake looked great! Second floor and all you could see was water :) I know I miss the ocean at this tme of year too... appreciate you stopping by and thanks for the thumbs up :) Hope to get together soon.
Tessa....Gorgeous views & lovely choices for your design. That pelican caught my eye and is soooo in keeping with the waterfront setting! Beautiful work!
Hi Kathy!
I always think it's nice to have a couple of signature pieces to catch the eye. I found this amazing urn at Tuesday Morning (they are based in Dallas and the store next to their corporate headquarters is always fun to shop!) and didn't know where it was going to go. Imagine how happy I was when it fit perfectly in this hallway alcove.
Thank you so much for your kind words, it's good to see you :) Hope all is well in Cali!
You did a lovely job, Tessa! The blue accents work beautifully. That dining table is a great find. Two weeks for a model home is a challenge, but certainly do-able. There's so much available on the internet (Hello, Overstock!) that you can cultivate a custom look tailored to any target buyer.
Hi Julia - thank you! The table came from one of my favorite resources in the Dallas Fort Worth area, Weir's Furniture. I don't know how I would have pulled off this quick turnaround with them! Almost everything they have is in stock for immediate delivery. Yes Overstock is great too, but it's hard to predict exactly when you'll get delivery.
Most of the art came from Overstock and that's a huge help when you are searching for a particular look!
