I can always find something at the 'the dollar store' that is just what I need...to wrap a present....add to a gift....replace the sunglasses I sat on...find an addition to the "prize closet" for something to amuse children...hand and dish soap...balloons for the birthday or mailbox surprise present...the list continues...I tease the clerks about when will they start the 'Recovering Dollar Store Shoppers' group....I will be there...but really I have no desire to recover. One friend we know let's her grandchildren have one dollar...and they have to make choices....what is it they really want most...a lesson in priorities.

Every day, brave men and women in the armed forces selflessly defend our country and the freedoms we cherish. When they deploy, they leave behind families that often struggle with day-to-day expenses and unforeseen emergencies. Operation Homefront, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, provides emergency financial and other assistance to the families of our service members and wounded warriors.
Dollar Tree is proud and humbled to partner with Operation Homefront to launch our 2012 Back-To-School Drive, running July 9th through August 5th. To show your support for our troops and their families, simply purchase school supply items and drop them off in a “Back-to-School Brigade” collection box located in any one of our stores. Operation Homefront will collect and distribute these items to military families in your area.
