I was just checking a few of my Google Analytic stats.  I generally do this (quickly) every Saturday, so I can track the traffic over time (thankfully, it keeps increasing every week...yay...subject for another post).  Today, I had a few more minutes and decided to look at mobile vs. non mobile users.

 

I noticed that 1,000 of the 7,000 or so hits are Ipad users.  That astonished me since I remember looking at mobile users on my previous site 15 months ago and thinking it was pretty miniscule. (I knew it would grow, but didn't realize how fast).

 

Now, thankfully, their usage behavior looks very similar to those viewing on their computers...time on site, pages/visit and bounce rate look consistent.  (This is not the case with the mobile phones...an area I know I need to address - I don't the page formats well and even worse, it takes too long to load).

 

It just made me realize that I'm going to need to borrow someone's iPad to see how my site looks and if I need to do anything differently to make sure it works and loads well there.

 

If anyone has any learning on how to optimize for iPads or any suggestions, please let me know.

Donna - You definitely need to get it. It's free.  It's not a widget.  You need to go to google analytics, open acct and get the source code and paste it into your site.  It gives you instructions (although I found them challenging to use).

Patricia - Yes, I see it being used more and more often by agents and by my customers.  I just didn't realize it already accounted for 14% of my clicks.

Jay - I konw.  I'm glad I'm using larger font in my blogs now...but I think my earlier posts on that site are smaller, so at some point, I will need to go back and make them larger.  I need to borrow someone's iPad next week for sure.

Debbie- I noticed on my iPad that AR has one view then if you scroll down to the bottom of the page you can click to see the normal AR view.

Outside Blog Attended Rain Camp

I am on my second Ipad (first one is flying around the world somewhere on us airways) and really enjoy using if for my business.  I could do almost anything with it, though without FLASH capabilities it gave me problems on some sites.  It seems that most sites are making their sites ipad capable.  Ipad also has several apps available that makes it work even with Flash web sites.  I can "almost" work my whole business off my Ipad.

Jon - Sorry abt the 2nd one. Excellent pt on the flash. I'm cool on my WP site, but I think my other site has a bit of flash on the home page.  However, most people don't enter via the home page on my site.  I really need to check things out on AR, my WP site and my other site.
