Bay Area Home Staging~Showcasing Living Rooms That Buyers Remember!

First Impressions are so important when selling your Home!

During our Home Staging Consultations with sellers in the San Francisco Bay Area one of the 'Key Rooms' of focus is the all important FIRST Impression of the Living Room.

Living Rooms are KEY as they are the buyers 'introduction' to the home.  As with ALL First Impressions...if that goes well you have their attention!

Important aspects of a GREAT First Impression:

  • Furniture Placement
  • Scale appropiate Furniture & Art
  • Design Interest
  • Color Pallet
  • Editing Out to Showoff the Square Footage!

Make the BEST of your First Impression!

Wow, what amazing examples of living rooms staged to show their real potential. Personally, I love seeing how a simple piece of art on the wall changed out to something more appropriately sized and shaped can make such a huge difference. Well done!!

Kathy - the difference is day and night and makes all the difference in how this home shows! To your point, the living room is so important because it's usually the first room you see, where you entertain and spend family time. I love the new, updated look which will appeal so the masses - exactly what you want when selling. I only wish your photos where bigger - the afters deserve a big spotlight!

Hi Kathy ~ the right furniture placement makes ALL the difference ... as shown so expertly in your photo examples.   In the first set of photos, the art placement was all wrong "before" and in the second set, glad you got them to lose the curtains!   Your staging also added needed color accents in both homes.  Well done as always!

Consultations are really the biggest bangs for our client's buck Kathy! I totally agree that first impressions are key for buyers eyes and I make a point to make sure we emphasize whatever the first impression room may be as key for the client to understand the importance of staging in.  Great post!

Kristine....THANKS and I just went in and made those a bit bigger!!  That First Impression can make/break the viewing!

Maureen....Thank you and agree that placement plays such a key role.  And YES those curtains were GONE...as were the LACE (read....DUSTY) curtains in the Dining Room.  The seller was a DREAM to work with and this home SOLD in 1 week!

Karen...THANK you and that first impression will carry you to the next room OR out the door!

Marie....Thank you for all your support!

Shar.....THANK you....Pinterest has been fun and given the exposure hoping will increase some traffic to my website!

Kathy your work is always so amazing. I love the updated feel you've given these living rooms. You're so right, they are key to selling a home and always a challenge to make sure the furniture placement shows space AND function.

I think we're following each other on Pinterest but I'm going to check right now... :)
