32 Comments on They don't make pools like they used to do
Roger: I'm with you. That's the way to spend your vacation.
Fred: Someone has to do the hard work! :-)
Michael: Nope, I got sidetracked, so that is still on my bucket list.
Rob: It's hard to find NEW photos of Diamond Head, but this was one for me.
Pamela: You and me both. So far I just LOOKED at it.
Richie: That's how I feel about the ocean. I like to look out towards the horizon. Or Diamond Head.
Looks like I could use a dip in that pool today.
I need to visit a place like this.
More and more newer construction resorts have separate pools for young and old.
That looks very appealing, especially when you are in 100 degree weather and near a blazing wild fire with smoke in the air like I am. Makes me want to visit my dear friend in Hilo.
Erica: That's how I felt when I saw it.
Anthony: No stress pool.
Bill: They finally caught on!!! And they can put some fun things in there, like the waterslide and the waterfall. I went by a lot of other pools, and they were full of people but besides cooling off, they weren't doing anything. The pool is too full of people to swim. And I won't say bad things about kids, they are kids, but as a more "mature" adult, do you want to lie there and just watch kids splash - and often, you. Anyway, I loved this idea! No people even walking between you and the view!!
Ute: This has been a tough summer for so many people. But maybe they can dream a little when they see this photo.
I love that style of pool, now if only they'd stop using chlorine...
Thanks for the pictures. This looks like THE spot to be today.
Even though I burn easily, I would gladly sacrifice myself for lounging for an afternoon! :-)
I would sooooo love to be there this very moment. We're on vacation, too, although ours involves lots of hiking in the desert. Lounging in the tropics sounds pretty good about now.

Wow I could see myself spending an entire day just enjoying the view. Thanks for sharing this relaxing photo.
This is great for me. I spent a lot of time in the old pool there back in 1974. I went from salt water to fresh water quite a few times the week I was there. Thanks for the memories.
Hella: This looks like a really fun afternoon! I like the idea a lot!
Matthew: Here's how the Sheraton described their pool water in a news release:
The pool took 48-hours to fill with 81,150 gallons of fresh water, which will be treated by a state-of-the-art salt chlorination treatment system – a process that is gentler on the environment than traditional powder or liquid based chlorine pool systems. As a result, the treated water, which has been described as “soft and silky,” will allow for a more comfortable swimming experience while minimizing potential drying and irritation to the skin.
For those who are gluttons for punishment, here's the whole pool release: http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=282551103383
Charlie: That is a GREAT way to spend Friday the 13th.
Ed and Tracy: Thank you, and I surely will.
Carla: Someone has to do it, right? You and me both.
Gretchen: Hiking in the desert sounds fabulous too. Too bad one can't do both on the same day.
Cindy: That's what's all about, staying out of harm's way on Friday the 13th.
Gary: That pool was great fun, what parties. I had my office at the Royal Hawaiian when the Sheraton Waikiko broke ground.
Silvia: Does look inviting, doesn't it?
Joy: It's actually called the Infinity Edge Pool.
Jane: Does it get any better than that? Hm...
Aloha, Hella. Visiting your son? That looks like a great pool to sip a Mai Thai and relax. Have fun--I'm sure you will. I've seen infinity pools built on Saratoga hillsides, but I'm not sure I'd go in. Just my luck, we'd have an an earthquake and whooosh I'd be washed down to the valley below.
Lloyd: That would be some waterslide down that hill!
