Ahoy Myrl - I'll bet you have buried treasure in the back yard Matey. You look great in that ship but now you have to trim the sails and swab the deck :-) Where's the canons?
Kristine - It has been a full week of non-stop activity. But, I felt I really needed to fit this year's pirate party in for John Luis' sake. The first year I held it, the theme was "Where Pirates Go." The recipes were from the Caribbean, and other areas around the globe. Last year's theme was, "My Big Fat Greek Pirate Party" which was devoted to Greek cuisine and a "tortuga." We had "Skewers" as our theme for this year. Little kabobs, marinated tri-tips and a recipe with 4 kinds of potatoes, carrots, fennel, caraway, peppers, onions, etc.
John - There was stuff buried alright! Some of it hopefully won't be found! The galley is tidy this mornin'. . .It took the cannons to blow it away!
Hi Myrl...Arrr Mately You look loke a fine Crew of Pirates...
Looks and sounds like you have a fun day...hopefully not to much Rum..ha
Myrl-like Krstine, I love family tradtions too. Let's hope the pirate traditions goes on forever. I love the pic of you in your pirate outfit. So... who had more fun.. you or Macie?!!
Really curious as to how and why this particular tradition got started in your family. Got to say though, your pirate picture looks happy, natural, and healthy. Elizabeth, men don't have that "problem" cause no one ever implied they need to "make up" for being who they are naturally. Women don't have that problem either, unless they let it happen.
Myrl,
What a lovely tradition, and you look great as a pirate also...Thanks for sharing this lovely family party. A
Myrl - I remember the photos from last years "event!" I'm looking forward to seeing them for this year. Thanks for sharing your family with us once again!
Looks like good fun. I remember the days when your imagination and a cardboard box where only the beginning.
Myrl,
I had heard about your pirate day with your family from William in San Diego! Where is your nephew from? I hope you do make it to San Antonio. Give me some notice and I will meet you there! I can see you had a wonderful weekend. I will be looking forward to the pictures!
Hi Myrl! I was shocked but happy to learn that I did not miss your annual pirate gathering as I learned in your post that the date was moved up to accomodate your Texan grandson. How fun, and Miss Marcie is a great shipbuilder! I would pass on the spa day-you look great!
Hi Myrl, this gathering sounds like great fun- love the photos...and everyone knows pirates don't wear makeup! LOL
Myrl, You and your family always look like you are having such fun! You are blessed!
Howdy and evening Myrl
Myrl my friend, that sure is a mighty fine looking little ole Pirate Ship your Granddaughter Macie made for the party! Your family party sure sounds like it was a whole lot of fun!
Have a good one
Dale in New Hampshire
Looks like a great time Mryl! Go and get that Spa day for yourself now. :-)
Myrl, it sounds like a lot of fun, but I don't think this is one for my family...they'll probably have me walking the the plank or whatever it's called and the plank would be located on the roof somewhere...my family is crazy...it's that or they don't like me much :)
Mryl... What fun! Families making great memories nothing beats it!
Thank you my friend for notifying of the Photo Feature. I am quiet honored. Glad the Elk was liked :)
Hi Mryl, you and your grand daughter look great with the happy smiling faces. It sounds like all of you have a lot of fun.
All - I want you to know I have read each and every one of your wonderful comments. I've been busier than a one-legged man in a butt kicking contest for a week now. But, I should begin to break water once again tomorrow. Thanks!
It looks like the children of ALL ages had a wonderful time, Myrl. Not shuffling that day!
