I have family in San Diego so I know exactly what you mean.  This is out "hot" price range right now.  But YOU can get a LOT of house and land on water for under a million here.

Mitch, there is a photo of the dock above, so yes, there is a dock and seawall.  The water depth is around 5 feet at the dock's end.  If you will call me with your email address I will be happy to send you more photos.
