Fountains Always Make It Seem Cooler in San Antonio

I don't know why, but the sound of flowing water always makes it seem a few degree cooler than it really is. That's especially true in our hot and dry summer weather here in San Antonio.

This is a fountain located in La Cantera, a northwest San Antonio shopping center, near Fiesta Texas. You'll find lots of great shopping, entertainment, and restaurants in this area.

In addition to shopping, La Cantera is also near the famed La Cantera golf courses, the campus locat

ions for Valero, USAA, and UT-San Antonio.

Call me if you'd like a tour of northwest or north central San Antonio. Several great communities are in the area with a variety of price points.

Good Evening Wayne,

I think you are right about San Antonio.  I have some very fond memories of it, starting from as far back as Basic Training. I love San Antonio.  Keep on writing about you beautiful city.

C. Lloyd-It's a great city I think too, but you may be the first person I've run into who likes anything about the city associated with their basic training.

You are so right... fountains definately cool off a place. I'm a little surpised to not see anyone taking a dip in it. We just were at a huge shopping center in Salt Lake City last week with a fountain and all sorts of kids were getting soaked, mine included!

That fountain does look awfully cool and refreshing. I imagine in a climate like in San Antonio, the fountains are enjoyed all year long!

Gretchen-I have seen some really kid-friendly fountains and I'll bet they are really nice on a hot summer day. Thanks for commenting.

Shannon-They are nice but due to water restrictions, they can't be operated very often. But when they are running, they are nice.

I agree - I love fountains and the aesthetic they provide.  Also great for noise reduction in a back or front yard!
