Gr8 post! I recently blogged about written English dying out, and texting overflowing into other means of communication, like Facebook and email. Thanks for some of the less obvious acronyms. C U l8r!

I feel these acronyms slow the communication process down when you have to translate them. Just type them out!

Acronyms help when you have limited characters such as twitter and texting.  I am an old modemer (a pre-Internet dinosaur) and I am astounded at how large the acronym list has grown.  I still don't know what BARFF is though... LOL

I know most of them, but there are still some that trip me up now and then.  I've actually had to turn to google to translate, LOL!

Thanks for the lesson, Roger.  I didn't know a lot of these, but then I am not a texting fan.  Too clumsy with my thumbs.

Couple of years ago, like you Roger, I never thought I would ever..ever..ever use them. I even use them in emails now. I have to google some new ones that I never heard of before, Tx for the link.

Hi Roger,

Thanks for sharing.

Your list definitely helps; I receive text all the time that I can’t read.

In the future I’ll reference your list.

Have a wonderful day!

A couple of these I didn't know. And with my advanced age I probably won't remember them.

Kathy Streib is my BARFF and I am hers - Best ActiveRain Friends Forever

Parents and Grandparents that text with their children and grandchildren need to be aware, even though this was just for fun, the kids use them and stump the elders.

Sometimes it's easy just to write out the word, but hey, I don't make the rules.

Like I said earlier, this was just for fun, so keeping with that theme:

You made me do it Mr. Ames but it's great, I love it!

I just figured out that you can use the iPhone and enter in the shortcuts in settings and then it will spell out the words. Just saw that last night.

Amaziing what iPhones can do.................but that would take the fun out of guessing.

As far as "they will feature anything from you".....I just write the stuff!

Like most things today, if you want to know something about the latest and greates technology, ask a kid.

So glad David suggested the Senior Citizen Code, it's too funny!
