It is so real and true. When you get right down to it Character is all that counts in the end.
A good advice. . character is perhaps the most important factor for success. .
I have been fooled many times - tricked by the big smile. My husband can tell with a handshake who the good guys are. Not me - I like everyone until they stab me in the back.
Good point on watching how people treat waitresses and other service people. Interesting how they can find reasons not to tip, and sometimes complain to the manager, just because they can. Can you tell that I used to be a bartender? :)
Hi Gary, first- what a fantastic photo and while I agree that character, the true stuff that we are made of is so important, it's been my experience that we might expect to see the worst come out when people are in boiling water :-]
I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, and even when I suspect their motives and character, I am always disappointed when they let me down. It's a sad thing when we are reminded that there are some nasty people in the world. I too watch for the way people treat other people - you are right, it is a huge clue as to their character.
Count "CHARACTER" very high up on your list on who you choose to associate with in life. Never any sounder advice given my friend.
It would be so much easier if everyone wore a sign around their neck with an honest description of who they really are... imagine how much time that would save!
Your character says a lot about who you are and how successful you could become also
It's cliche, but life really is too short to associate yourself with people who bring you down. I do the same...look at the way others treat service people, etc, to see what their character really is.
So does this mean if I don't have good character I could get better? Here's the character I'm shooting for. She's a character with character!
Gary,
The fiery trials definitely refine all our hearts. Yet, sadly, some miss it as character seems to be lacking. Good post... g
