The "Green" revolution will not only have a positive impact on our living conditions, it could improve our economy and will most certainly bring about all sorts of new employment for many. How long will the people of the United States wait while Germany leads the world in Solar Electric and Brazil in Bio-fuels? Earth Friendly Moving from Orange County, CA is an excellent example of exactly what's possible.

My clients have used Earth Friendly Moving and I've received great feedback in regards to both their service and the overall idea behind their business model. Click on the Youtube link below to watch a short video with Spencer Brown, Founder and Inventor.

Hi Evan:  I think our country is really dragging our feet in being "green."  I don't really think the current administration puts much stock in it.  They seem to be ignoring it.  There are some industries that are taking great steps in implementing programs that conserve fuel, and cut back on waste.  We had better deal with this soon, because the longer we take to get going, to worse it all gets.  Thanks for sharing.

Hi Karen, who would have thought the oil baron's would have taken us this far off track right?  I blame our government policy just as much as I blame myself and the rest of the United States People who have done little to nothing.  If only we had real, honorable leaders that would inform and challenge the United States People to make changes in our lifestyle.  Instead we got tax incentives for massive SUVs and were encouraged to go on with our excessive consuming and that that would help show the "terrorist" that we're not afraid.

Evan, I agree with Karen that this country is way behind the green scene. We only have one planet and we must do whatever we can to preserve it. Once we foul this one up, there is no moving to another.  8-)

There are some positive trends. Simply the fact that "green" and "eco" and similar terms have become so popular in advertising is leading people to develop more of a concern. Unfortunately, the FCC will not have new rules in place on these phrases till 2009 (the last rules being from 1998). Germany and Brazil are good examples of what a little incentive can do. The German government was only planning to have 15% of the nations energy from solar by 2012 (it is currently at 33%). However, even Germany's green plans are being criticized by environmentalists. The farms that they wish to construct for bio-fuel production in Indonesia will destroy forest areas. It is also interesting to note that Germany is still the only country that produces cars that can run on bio-diesel on their regular production lines (Volkswagen and Mercedes).

That is a pretty cool idea.  I agree with everyone's comments on the US and other countries are behind the power curve on green thinking.

this sounds like a great thing! Hope it catches on nation-wide. Personally, I always go to the grocery store and ask them not to crush boxes for a few days, but to save them for me. I have moved so many times in my lifetime (15 times in the last 20 years) and always use grocery or liquor store boxes. Then I return them to the local stores to be crushed and recycled.

thanks for the comments everyone.

FRANK, I couldn't agree with you more about the greenwashing that has already taken place and it seems that it's just getting started.

Barbara-Jo, Spencer Brown, the founder, is currently working towards nation wide service right now.  Check his web-site and sign up for his newsletter if you'd like to follow his company.  I also appreciate your re-using grocery store boxes strategy.  Anytime you can communicate sustainability to others like you must do when you approach the employees of a grocery store is great.

Hi Evan,

This is a fantastic idea! I am both really glad that it is being done and that you get to work with this guy, and also kinda bummed that this is not out here in Tallahassee and elsewhere... When does this guy plan on spreading out across the nation?
