A New Day - Happiness is an inside job

I recently was speaking with one of my sons and he was telling me some things that someone had said about me and I said “Stop telling me those things, they’re hurting my heart.” He said “That’s an inside job ." I then asked him what that meant. He said, “Mom don’t you read your Morning Messages? Don’t you always say we decide how we feel, we make it happen, as we think so are we” ... and he went on and on until I got it...

Happiness is an inside job.   We decide what hurts us and who hurts us and how we feel.  We cause ourselves more pain than anyone else, we do. As soon as our phone conversation ended, I immediately wrote “It’s an inside job” and taped it on my computer and now every time I feel unhappy about anything I remind myself that bad feelings are my doing, that feelings are an inside job and believe it or not I get rid of those bad feelings that rob me of my joy real fast. I mean why would anyone want to hurt themselves?

I now see so clearly that happiness is a choice we make not something that happens to us. Happiness is truly an inside job. The joke is that I’ve been writing about this stuff for years and I just got it and it took my son telling me… “Happiness is an inside job”.

Once you get it, use it. Appreciate your power.

Let yourself feel joy and let no one on the outside take that joy from you.

Be happy and always remember that; "Happiness in always an inside job"!
