OK...it is hot enough...Summer is here!

I blogged the other day about it not being hot yet.  That summer still wasn't here.

Well, today I was working on the deck and had to move the thermometer.  I took it down and sat it on the deck floor.

It was showing over 100 at that point.

When I picked it back up I noticed the needle had pegged above 120.

The plastic background had melted and was shriveling up.  the needle, also plastic, has softened and was all warpped.  It was all just melted and formed together that even when I brought it inside, the needle could not move.

So, for today, I will say it is hot enough.

Now, I am thinking of doing the 'Green Thing' and frying the burgers on the deck floor!

It's pretty hot when your thermometer can't stand up to the heat. Have a great night, William and try to stay cool.

Bill, it is certainly an odd weather year in parts of the country where it is supposed to be cold in the winter and not nearly this hot in the summer.

Here in Ventura CA, we have been experiencing mild temps...and now I am knocking on all the wood I can find!!!

Toady seemed like the hotest day yet and my poor wife the AC on the van keeps not working...we get it fixed but then it stopped working.

Hi William,

I must say it is too hot when the thermometer breaks due to the heat. Those things are supposed to last more than 100 degrees. I like you idea of cooking burgers outside. We have two griddles, one with ridges and one without, and my husband cooks bacon, steaks, chicken, all fish, and skewered veggies on our barbecue every night. It keeps the odors outside and doesn't heat up the house.

Better go get a new thermometer.

Heh, that was some hi-tech equipment. Nothing like failing at a temperature that is listed on the device.

I always thought that when global warming came that my family would be safe in Minnesota...apparently NOT!
