I'm not a groupie - I swear I'm not
This past Friday night (Friday the 13th even), Kelly and I attended the Steve Miller Band concert at Thunder Valley Casino near Sacramento Ca. This was our third year in a row seeing Steve Miller in the area. In 2010 we saw him at Raley Field in Sacramento, and last year we saw him at Ironstone Winery in Murphys Ca.
We are both fans of Steve Miller and the last three years he has been in the area right around her birthday. Her birthday in July 18th but being the gentleman that I am I will not divulge her age. So I guess this has now become the birthday tradition to go see the Steve Miller Band in concert somewhere around the middle of July. The band played all of their hits such as Jet Airliner, Living in the USA, Rock N Me, Take the Money and Run, Fly Like an Eagle the Joker and many more.
At Friday's concert joining Steve was special guest Carlos Reyes. (Not the baseball player) Carlos is a Grammy winning harpist and violinist. In addition to playing with Steve Miller, Mr.Reyes has also played with the Doobie Brothers, Clint Black, Chuck Mangione, Charlie Daniels, Willie Nelson, Wynona Judd, Santana and many many others. He performed on both the harp and violin and really rocked the place. His first song with the band was Abracadabra and it was awesome. He joined the band on several other songs through out the night.
The questions now is will we see the Steve Miller Band for a fourth year in a row next year? My guess is that if the band is touring in 2013 and in the area we will probably see them. Does seeing the band four years in a row make me a groupie?
