30 Comments on Help For Abused NM Horses
This is sad. I have heard of problems like this. I suspect some people are just mean, I think that many people are in trouble financially and when you have to decide between taking care of the kids or the horses the kids come first. Where do you take a horse you can no longer afford? I suspect there are not a lot of places you can just go and drop off a horse, unless of course it is abused!
I'm with Kris. They should suffer the same treatment and have the animals watch from a safe area while being pampered with oats and brushing. It's hard to imagine how someone could treat such beautiful animals this way.
Thanks for sharing John, it's hard to think about what some of these animals go through before they are rescued. Thank God for those who volunteer their time and money to this very noble cause.

John - It is sad to hear that this sort of thing happens. Thanks for showing us a way to report this.
Good morning John,
What a great post to share what the public can do to help. It is sad to see this situation for these wonderful animals.
Call John McCormack (505) 980-4576 if you're looking for horse property in the Albuquerque, Rio Rancho area......you'll be so glad you did.
John, it is a shame people don't have more compassion. If they can't handle it, reach out for help! If you undertake the responsibity, you have the obligation to see it through! Enjoy your day!
John - Yes, this is a great post to raise awareness. Horses are beauiful and we need to take care of them, too.
Excellent post, John.
Have an outstanding week with your camera in hand.
John, i hope there is an anonymous tip line to report this kind of abuse to animals...it is just conscionable not to report it and you just hope that these owners come to their senses and rightfully give their animals up.
Good morning John. I almost didn't read this because I knew it would be sad. I hope that there is real help for these beautiful animals in your state....and everywhere.
John, We've of course heard of cruelty to cats and dogs but never thought about larger animals like those beautiful horses. Great way to raise awareness of this problem!
Good morning, John --- great post to spread awareness of animal cruelty and to let NM residents know where to get help. Wishing you a great day in real estate and more!
Animal abuse of any kind is the worst. Thanks for sharing the word here John.
John
This is going to upset the makers of dog food, no. Please no rude comments, just a bit of my ribald Napa Valley humor, cheers cvc
Good Morning John, what a nice and majestic animal. It is unfathomable how anyone could abuse them. Nice list of help for those animals in need. Have a great day
John- I've had horses all my life and it kills me that people abuse them or any animal for that matter. This is a great post to raise awareness and educate people on who they can call if they see an abuse case.
John,
There are so many heartbreaking stories when it comes to animals and horses especially. I met a broker from Florida who was rescuing horses there. This "Great" Recession has really taken a toll on so many animals, and it is good to have people who are on the job. A
Good afternoon friends -
Indeed abuse of any animal is not acceptable. Unfortunately abuse, neglect and even death of horses has made the news much too often lately. Prompting this post in hopes of encouraging someone to report any animal abuse they may have knowledge of.
Thank you each for your comments and input. I have read and left a comment on your post returning the favor in the Rain.
Hope you have a great and productive afternoon!
John
By now you know of my love for animals. I can't tolerate animal abuse of any kind. I know abuse happens to the magnificent horse, too. I'm glad your state has an organization that will help. Many years ago, our small local animal shelter, use to mainly taking care of cats and dogs, rescued a horse that was starving. That bag of bones turned into a fine animal and now has a wonderful home.
We see that here from time to time as well, but I believe we have a good system for catching these people and getting the animals the help and the love they need to live long lives.
