"HomeFinder.com Makeover" Improving listing presentations.
Perhaps a notebook or iPad to streamline listing documents for dependable access to the internet when meeting with potential clients is the next business purchase on my list. Lesson learned after having played the waiting game more than once while the HotSpot for $65 per month fails again.
THAT, I repeat, THAT should never happen when meeting sellers for the first time. Actually, it should NEVER happen!
Good thing I had a back up plan:
- I still was able to win the sellers over when the equipment refused to boot up.
- And had a beautiful 4-color paper presentation as a back up with a great marketing / advertising plan as well.
- It helped to be very knowledgeable about the community and recently sold a home in the same neighborhood rather quickly at market value.
Not every seller would be as understanding regardless of past expertise and success. Right now, in the moment, is all that counts! Besides, who has the money to throw away on unreliable internet gear?!
As real estate professionals we usually get one shot to impress and convince home owners that we are the best agent for the task at hand and with proper, reliable equipment, the opportunity to wow them becomes greater.
Sellers are becoming more online savvy and are taking a more active role with the sale of their property. They expect real estate professionals to be above their knowledge base regarding sales abilities, the marketability of their home, timeframes, local neighborhood stats, market trends, etc.
Pulling information quickly from the internet may be key to getting the listing or moving on to the next one hoping to impress…and we all know that hope is not a credible listing / marketing / advertising plan. Proper planning and preparation with trustworthy equipment, however, are the best course to take!
An iPad or notebook with internet capability will be the next purchase I make after I research each product thoroughly for the best fit. The time is now to improve my systems to move the business forward and gain the confidence of future clients! And perhaps a little for myself.
