I have no stats to back this up at the moment, but I do think we continue to be one of the better nations in history in giving to those in need. Though we still have a ways to go in true fairness. And I'm not talking about Socialism, ya prick ;)
Jason - I am sure we have been that giving country and continue to be. I do not know how to define "true fairness," however. And you can find a better word to describe me...
Heaven's reward itself is set up on the principle of reaping what one sows. That, therefore, must be true fairness.
Agreed on that definition of "true fairness".
And I'll look for a different word to describe you;)
Jason - free enterprise, therefore, where one reaps what one sows, is eminently fair.
And "Oh Captain! My Captain!" would go a long way toward describing me.
Jay,
Well said - our system depends on morality. JQ Adams said it very well, and we have moved past his axiom. :)

We will not survive without it Steve, as a nation or as an economic system.
Morning Jay in my past posts I have voiced my opinion of things and before I go on another rant I will send you an email I received last night. I have not checked it out but read it for yourself and let me know.
I just got an email from you James and checked back to make sure it was from you. Apparently it was!
Jay,
Congratulations. This post is now featured in "The Law Of The Land." :)

Thanks Steve. This one did not get a lot of play! Maybe because of that first comment!
Jay,
Perhaps. National giving is not the same as personal giving. While there is some charity - especially after an event, mostly countries give to get. Not moral, strategic. :)
Steve
Jay,
Congratulations. This post is now featured in "Celebrating Free Enterprise." :)

Thanks for the feature Steve. I think the US has proved over and over that we will come to help with disasters no matter what or where. Of course, that is easier when our country actually has the money...
