Electronics Recycling Drive named Barks & Bytes in Katy TX.
Electronics Recycling Drive named Barks & Bytes in Katy TX on Saturday August 4, 2012 from 12 PM until 4 PM at the Members Choice Credit Union. Members Choice’s location is 3770 N. Fry Road Houston TX. Special Pals animal shelter (and more) is teaming with Green Arrow Recycling by taking unwanted electronics gear for recycling. Every pound of scrap metal being keep out of local landfills will help needed funds for all the homeless animals at Special Pals.
All local businesses and resident are being asked to participate in this important community event and to gather up all unwanted electronics and bring it to Members Choice Credit Union. Bring a truck full of this junk as a crew will even unload the stuff for you.
The list of electronics being collected includes:
Computer towers and parts, including hard drives, circuit boards, keyboards, etc.: CRT and flat screen monitors; Laptops; Servers and routers, printers, scanners and fax machines; copiers, toners and printer cartridges; cords and cables, including power cords, Ethernet, USB; cell phones,; telephones; game consoles; DVD players and VCR’s; LCD flat screen TV (smaller than 36 in.); Cable & satellite receivers; electronic radios and clocks.
They cannot take plasma TV’s, CRT/tube TV’s, projection screen TV’s, household appliances or any lawn equipment.
I am posting this blog early so folks in the area can gather up the old electronic junk and be ready to take it to the recycling drive on August 8, 2012. By donating you are stopping harmful metals from being dumped into landfills while providing funds to help homeless animals and not even to mention help to clean out your home or garage or both. . Pat yourself on the back after you have dropped off a load of this junk and then brag to your spouse or significant other how hard you worked on your day off. Tell all your buddies how hip you are for joining the “Green Movement”. But on the serious side this is a huge win, win and win for all involved.
