My girl dog is easily distracted. She can be walking along very calmly, but if a bug flies by she starts hopping around like a kangaroo. My lantana brings butterflies and they chases them too. I call Laney my "kitty" puppy because well I'm a cat person and she can sense that so she acts as much like the cats as she does Glen.
Lately I have been so busy at work that I have likely behaved much like my Laney puppy. The other day I called Linda (one of my buyer clients) Laura. She seemed okay with my mistake, but I was mortified over it. I had just talked to her an hour earlier, but two L names with husband's with the same first name just did me in. I have been a little distracted because I've been so busy.
But the good news is I see some glimmer of light. I have hired a new agent. And when I say "new" agent this time I do mean "new". I am his sponsoring broker to getting his first real estate license. So now that he has the piece of paper that says he can sell real estate, it's time to get on with the learning how. (Looks like they would teach you some of that in the pre-licensing class, but no). At our last meeting I sent him home with the contract. The first rule is know it inside and out. And when we get that one licked we will go out and look at our in house inventory, then move on to other listings in our immediate area.
Knowing inventory has always been important to me. Out of the 127 homes on the market in my area I have been in more than 75 of them. Preview and you can speak intelligently about a property and know if that property can meet the needs of your client. So while like my Laney I am busy and distracted. I still work hard to know the right house, even if I mess up your name. And soon my office will have another agent to ready to help with the buyers and I can be more focused.
