Construction on the Alga Norte Community Park in Carlsbad is About to Begin
How do I know?
The building superintendent’s (temporary) office is in place, the Port-a-Potties are lined up (who can have a construction site without Port-a-Potties?), signage is displayed, and recent published news reported the City of Carlsbad has finalized approval for the construction of Alga Norte Community Park at the corner of Poinsettia and Alicante in the La Costa Greens area.
Alga Norte Community Park will provide a terrific outdoor lifestyle addition to the Carlsbad Park system, with several pools, a skate park, dog park, playground, 3 lighted softball/baseball fields, picnic areas and barbecue, basketball court (1 full, 1 half), and more.
T. B. Penick & Sons, a San Diego-based developer, has been awarded the contract to build the 32-acre Alga Norte Community park, expected to be completed in late 2013.
Stay tuned for updates and photos on the construction. Here’s an overview from the City of Carlsbad website on Alga Norte Community Park.
