Motivational Power Quote

Doing the Same Thing Over and Over is a Habit

“If you’re doing something the same way you way you have for 10 years, the chances are you are doing it wrong.”

Charles F. Kettering 1876 - 1958, American Inventor, Engineer, Businessman

As I see it . . . . . . .

Doing the same thing over and over is a habit

Businesses and people fall into habits and continually do the same thing over and over.

The Post Office does it and costs the tax payers millions of dollars a year to subsidize an obsolete business model.

The print newspapers are doing it and since 2007 they have lose 67% of their subscribers.

Just look around you and will be able to indentify business and business models that where comfortable in doing business the way that they always been doing it that are no longer in business.

Doing the same thing over and over is a habit of doing business in your comfort zone. But doing business in your comfort zone may no longer be reaching your market or provide the market with the services that they are demanding.

You have to analyze your business model and adjust it to meet the demand of the market place. Some of the changes will be easy to make and some will be painful but if they are not made the business becomes obsolete and will not survive.

Doing the same thing over and over is a habit, the question becomes is what we’re doing contributing to creating satisfied customers and to your success?

Hi Lou, Sometimes our habits are Good if they are helping us to be more productive, but if we are not improving, then it's time for a change.

I agree Lou! Evolving with the changes that occur when they happen is paramount to success. Nothing ever stays the same.

So true Lou, just because we've been doing something for a long time doesn't mean we're doing it right.

Habit is comfortable, that's the problem.  You need to stretch to grow!
