Pinterest, How Do You Use It?

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Catherine Cornelia Real Estate

There's a new player in the social media world that is making a big splash; Pinterest. It is becoming a great 'go to' place. For those who see the world visually, Pinterest is a great place and for the rest, the links back to the source of the photos satisfy a desire to know more.

What does this mean for real estate? Used wisely, Pinterest can promote your brand, your company and your listings. Think about it and post your comments!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Catherine,  I've seen the rather impressive stats on Pinterest but hesitant to try to take on yet another social platform.

Hi Catherine.  I signed up for Pinterest but haven't done anything with it yet.  If figure it will be a great fall project.  Love your photo btw.

@Bill - I understand how you feel about another social platform. When a new platform makes the impact Pinterest has, I find myself compelled to find out why. If it works so well, is there another platform I can spend less time on? Often there is, after all, we have so much to do and so little time to do it.

@Belinda - sounds like a plan. The simplicity and the beauty of the Pins make it a fun place to be with the benefit of exposure. Thanks!

Hi Catherine.  I'm not in real estate...I do flooring...and BTW, I'm right in your back yard.  Welcome to AR.

I have been using Pinterest and I just followed you a minute ago.  Feel free to check out what I'm doing.

I'm using this is a # of ways: 1) backlinks to a few pictures on my site, 2) ways to visualize things for my customers (e.g. I have lots of pretty pictures of kitchens and bathrooms and floors.  I bring samples to my customers.  but, sometimes, it turns out they want something else...something I didn't bring w/ me.  I've now had several times where I've gone to my pinterest acct (via Ipad) to show them pictures and this really helped nail down what they did and did not want.  It has helped speed up the decisionmaking process (at times) so I know what they want.  And, other times, I can show them pictures of the floors in a real room.

Also, I have to say it's rather fun and easy.  I'm enjoying it more and more.  I think soon, I need to link to a few key blog posts.  I still have a lot to learn.
