Paying it forward- should just be the way we do things

I've learned that what goes around comes around and one of the biggest lessons in life that I'll never forget was when I was pregnant with twins and having complicatons.  One of my neighbors who was going to be moving soon, came over and helped me mop the floors and pick up the house every week - just to be nice.  When I asked her how I could ever repay her, she said, "No, just pay it forward".   I think of her with fondness everytime I pay something forward. 

Hi Tammy, lovely flowers! This small-town neighborly attitude is def. what I miss the most around here! One of the reasons why I left the "Rock" and fled to a family-owned business... the door is always open, people are welcome to just stop in to chat a bit but it's not quite the same as in your neck of the woods.

Tammy and Shanna:  When I read a comment like Shanna's... tears come to my eyes.  (Yeah, I am that much of a "softy.")  Hearing something like Shanna's story about how her neighbor came over to help her every week while she was pregnant... just warms my heart.  It's so great knowing that there are people "out there" who... one by one... are making this world a better place to live.

Tammy, your commitment to service is very clear from your posts. I do hope they find their dog. Always so hard to lose a pet. Have a great weekend and don't work too hard.

Tammy, It is just a way of life.  It might be as simple as taking someone's empty grocery cart as you walk by in the parking lot, but those unexpected things make a difference in how people feel.  There ARE good people out there!

This is not a small town but I hear you.  You will inter react with a lot of people each day and you can leave them better or worse for having met you.  Why not better?  We are all in this life together.

Tammy, that was a perfect use for your sign.  Now there is a nation of dog lovers hoping the puppy is found soon.  Nothing beats a small town in my opinion.

Tammy, Beautiful flowers!  I hope that the lost pup is found. It's always so sad to hear that one of those little guys is missing. Great job in doing what you can to get the word out!

Isn't that what signs in small communities are for? That's what I would do if I lived in a small town. Everybody probably knows Tammy sells real estate at Lake Sinclair but they might not know how much Lane Realty is committed to the community, and I think this is a great way to show it, plus it serves double duty as a much needed and appreciated service.

Do I spot a few dahlias in that arrangement?

Great post and I have always believed that good turns will come back to you. Of course, that is certainly not the reason to do them. We do good turns because we are nice and we like to help others but usually the favor somehow someday is repaid whether here or beyond. I am so sorry to hear about the puppy as I love animals so much.
