How you start your day puts you more in control. No matter how it ends up, it’s how you begin that really matters. You are the Gatekeeper. Regardless of the road you travel, here are some tips that work for me:

1.     Record each day and organize your thoughts.

2.    Whatever you touch, decide what needs to be kept.

3.    Whatever needs to be weeded out, discard it promptly.

4.    Take action on things that need to be tended to and follow through.

5.    Schedule your day carefully and be prepared for the unexpected.

6.    Pay attention to details.

7.    Set aside time for follow-up and make sure you deliver.

8.    Maintain a sunny disposition even when things look cloudy or appears threatening.

9.    Adjust your schedule and shift your priorities as needed.

10.  Delegate unimportant tasks, remembering everything IS important.

11.  Schedule a quiet time to think without interruptions.

12.  Exercise your mind, time and energy wisely - reach for the stars.

LIFE IS GOOD! Manage your day. You are the Gatekeeper.

Whether I represent a buyer or a seller I work to make systematic changes to achieve results.

What a great check list, Patricia.  Yes, I need to be better about throwing out (or filing) those papers right away.

Patricia:  Your list would be a good one for people who hoard things and have a tough time managing a day.

Patricia:

Your list is what I need to remember.  I am constantly writing list of thing to do each day, but sometime things just intrude and make my list useless.  I never remember to schedule some down time, other than sleeping.

Patricia, very good list. I love "Whatever you touch, decide what needs to be kept."  I need to repeat it to myself every day.

Hi Patricia, I love the idea of weeding out-so important to get those little annoyances done quickly and what a great sense of accomplishment.  Thanks for the daily inspiration.

Patricia, hard to pick any on your list as the most important...they all are, but one would have a big effect on a personal battle I'm waging now..."Whatever you touch. Decide what needs to be kept".

Nick,

So good to hear from you! Deciding what needs to be kept is a tough one for me too. But I can tell you, it is very effective. To not decide, is to decide, and the decision never goes away until you decide to take action or delete, delegate or discard!

Evelyn,

Sometimes we just have to re-frame the question and follow actions that makes sense to us. I think we all have good intentions but when they become routine, it's easy to neglect the things we need to do. Sticking to a program that works makes life more manageable. And when it isn't working, we have to try something else.

All the best to you!
