I think we all have. I do try to be quick to apologize. I think people SHOULD speak their minds, but always in a respectful way.
My Donald says I can "yell" without raising my voice very well. :)
I'm all about transparency.....however, I there does need to be an air of professionalism. I'm OK with transparency...just make it above board.
I rarely yell negative at others but have been known to lit a "colorful" word or two slip. Was in a very busy work shop the other day having a conversation with a mechanic friend and just as I let out a...shall we say...emphatic word...they shut off the loud vehicle. Had to explain we were just talking and not arguing....
Our pastor preached on this on Wednesday night. We are to be loving and kind. We do not have to agree, but we most certainly should not be ugly. Jesus asked his Father to forgive those who were killing him... thank goodness, since He died for ALL sin, including MINE. Thank you for the reminder to watch my tongue, and be kind. :)))
The connection between the tongue and the brain is often times short circuited and ends up with a foot in mouth situation.
I agree Cal... sometimes it is best to just count to 10 and then decide if you really want to jump in! K
I'm surprised I don't have scars on my tongue for the number of times I've had to bite it in my lifetime Cal. What you say is such good advice. Make it a great day!
Tammy, ah your Donald knows you well to understand when you are yelling without doing so.
Larry, yes being open is important, but marriage has taught me there is a positive way to be open with tense communication and there is a less than positive way. :)
Mike, :) that must have been an interesting conversation.
Joni, must have been a good Wednesday eve service.
So true Erv. Hope you have a great day.
Kathy, that counting to 10 has long been good advice. Hope you are well.
Roger, have you really examined that tongue, it may actually have scars. I am gonna have a great day and I hope you do as well.
Cal
The old saying about if you don't have anything nice to say, it's better not to say anything, still holds true.
Cal- most of us tend to not use a filter when talking and later regret it. It is the true professional who can exercise some discipline.
Hi Cal,
I have been called too quiet for some people. I like to think it is because I take the time to reply or join in a conversation by thinking through......at least I hope I do.
