15 Comments on Six Flags America & Lynyrd Skynyrd: Military Appreciation Day 9/22/12
Hi Andrea, wow...a private six flaggs adventure PLUS Lynyrd Skynyrd for $18 bucks! Nice!! Talk about a fun day for sure and a nice thing for both the park and the group to do support you guys.
How much fun would it be to be at this event? It'd be a blast. However, it is, is, is for a good cause!!!!
Hi Cindy, I know, right?!! We are so going to this just have to figure out the logistics of having fun with the girls at the Six Flags first and then enjoying the concert with hubby.
Hi Larry, it is going to be A LOT fun! I'll be sure to report back :-)
Hi Andrea, I am impressed that Six Flags does this for our military...a high five for six flags!
Hi Andrea. I just love that title, "Defenders of Freedom Appreciation Day". No, doubt those first 5,000 will be in for a treat with the concert from Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Hi Rebecca, Six Flags has been doing regular events for the military - private or discounted tickets. High five for sure.
Hi Jerry, I do, too. It's got a great ring to it and is so very fitting! You are more than welcome to join us Jerry :-)
Andrea - you're so right!! Lynyrd Skynyrd really surprized me with his support. I LOVE the people with some "pull" show so much respect. It's GREAT!!!!
Andrea - how cool is this! Wow - it is awesome to see more and more companies having special events - or setting aside special military appreciation days. We cannot do enough for you and your family. Thank YOU for serving!
Hi Juli, couldn't agree more! Love the idea and I can only imagine how fast those first 5,000 tickets will be sold.
Hi Louise, it is! There are a ton of companies out there showing their support for the troops and the families. The military discounts are always welcomed but it's not necessarily about saving a few dollars. It's about the gesture, the appreciation, the Thank You!
That's just awesome. Haven't been to the six flags in GA in years... I stopped when my kids got old enough to go without me. But I still miss the roller coasters. :)
Hi Tammy, well, I think it's about time you go then! Did I mention that we can bring guests? :-) Come join us or make a roller-coaster date with Donald! You 2 would have a blast I am sure.
Andrea,
Great local post and great event. Bet it will be a big draw. :)
Steve
Andrea,
Congratulations. Your post is now featured in "Observances and Celebrations." :)
Steve
Hi Steve, thank you very much for featuring it. I hope lots of military families around here will hear about it and take advantage of it. We definitely will.
Dear Andy (calling from Blue Cross Blue Shield), I'm sorry I missed your call and would have loved to return it. Unfortunately, you did not provide me with a phone number!
It is my understanding that the Six Flags Defenders of Freedom Day is "only" for active duty & their dependents and reservists. Tickets must be purchased on base at the ITR office - a DoD ID card is necessary.
Please feel free to contact me if this didn't answer your questions.
