Vacation Accommodation Speed Clean

You’ve come to Smith Mountain Lake to get out on the water, soak up the sun, treat the children and grandchildren to all-day play and make special memories with family members. The last priority on your list is cleaning up the house, condo, houseboat or RV during your stay. But cleaning must happen to keep clutter off the floor, resources reusable and prevent slipping on puddles of water. It is especially essential to clean when locking up the vacation rental.

HGTV provides helpful tips on 10 minute cleaning spurts that will keep your Smith Mountain Lake vacation rental in top condition the whole time you’re there, and make that final wrap-up much less demanding.

At the end of each day - perhaps before dinnertime - enlist the whole brood to a timed attack on chores. Assign a chore to each person. Spreading out the responsibilities will ensure a lighter load for each person and make it possible for kids to participate more easily. Make it more fun and exciting for children by setting a time for ten, fifteen or twenty minutes and create a beat-the-clock challenge. Use this time to fill up the dishwasher with dishes and other dishwasher-safe items and put beach towels and bath towels in the washer.

In less than half an hour, the rental will make a drastic transformation - giving you ease of mind and making it easy to get right back to the best parts of vacation without household chores weighing on anyone’s mind.
