It's almost time for the world's best professional tennis players to converge on the Cincinnati area for the Western & Southern Open!  You can expect all the big time men and women professional tennis players to be swinging the racquets and making plays the rest of us could only dream of making!  The annual Western & Southern Open in Mason is one of those mandatory stops on the big time tennis tours (ATP World Tour and WTA).  You get the top 20 men AND 19 of the top 20 women at this one!  (One of the women must be injured or she'd be there too!).


Lindner Family Tennis CenterThe Lindner Family Tennis Center has spent $20 million upgrading the facility to handle the crowds and you're going to love the work!  New food court, solar power for the facility, new courts, it's going to be a top notch event!

Now ticket prices vary pretty significantly.  If you're hardcore and want to attend EVERY day, all 16 sessions, they've got ticket plans from $450 to $710 that include parking passes. 

Another option is the mini plans, which include two days of four sessions, prices range from $150 to Finals Weekend for $295, but POOF, they're already SOLD OUT.Western & Southern Open trophy

Individual single session tickets cost anywhere from $10 during the early qualifiers to $75 for the Finals.  Keep your eye out for specials, Groupon might run something like they did last year.  There are also special event days like Kids Day, High School Day, Military Appreciation Day, USTA Member Appreciation Day that offer a chance to save enough to buy a few extra tennis balls for yourself!


And of course there's more going on than just tennis!  You can expect the usual vendor booths, and the newly renovated food court offers more than just the typical fare.  Sushi, Burritos, Sandwiches and a whole lot more!

The Lindner Family Tennis Center can be accessed from either the I-71 Western Row exit or the Kings Mill exit.

This sounds like a great facility. My daughter is a tennis player. The kids got to go to the Aspen indoor courts last season, and they were all impressed. It was state of the art, and our country girls had never seen anything like it. I missed that match, because I was too busy driving around Aspen looking for the courts, but my daughter was really excited about the place and I heard all about it.

Debbie, This facility is definitely impressive.  They've been making massive improvements over the last two years.  Also state of the art.  They'll get huge crowds for this.  You have to plan for some extra commute time if you're using the same exits off I-71 as the tennis tournament.

Sounds like a pretty impressive facility and no doubt this championship will be well attended. They are having the finals today at the women's Mercury Insurance Open at La Costa - perhaps some of the same players.

Anne, I think this shot is of Roger after winning the event 2-3 years ago.  One of the Andys won last year, can't remember if it was Murray or Roddick.
