Sushi by the Capitol
... the State Capitol in Annapolis that is. Annapolis, MD is a special place for us and close enough to visit (a lot). We like to stroll around historic downtown, take in the view from the city dock, go treasure hunting in the charming stores, stand in awe of history ... and get some great dinner.
There's no shortage of fantastic restaurants in Downtown Annapolis. Sadly, the place where we shared our first sushi dinner a decade ago is no longer there. Others have filled the void, however, and have become favorites among locals and visitors alike.
I highly recommend Nano Asian Dining at 189 A Main St, Annapolis, MD. Sans the typical Asian decor it feels more like a bistro (which is a good thing) - it is decorated with art work from local artists instead. The sushi is AMAZING. I'm no food critic by any means, just a gal who loves good sushi.
A sushi bar will pass my taste test if:
- my favorite roll is the perfect combination of cream cheese and salmon with the smoky flavor of the salmon lingering for awhile
- the last - gone too fast - 2 pieces on the plate will elicit a sigh and bring about a certain amount of sadness.
The service at Nano Asian Dining was fast and pleasant, our ice tea was refilled at just the right times and a request for more wasabi was fulfilled promptly and was plentiful. The sushi at Nano Asian Dining easily passed my taste test with the last two pieces eliciting a rather big sigh.
We shall return for more sushi by the Capitol,
... to Nano's.
