North Carolina Zoo

NC Zoo

If you are visiting North Carolina or maybe you are fortunate enough to live here, you must visit the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro.  It is fabulous.

Recently, my family and I decided to make the 4 hour drive from the coast to check it out.  We are already planning our next visit!

The exhibits are fantastic, and the animals have TONS of space.  The staff is more than happy to share educational information about each species and they were friendly & knowledgable.

We splurged and bought the special tickets to take a stroll through the Prehistoric Area where dinosaurs roamed the world.  I highly recommend you do the same.  We also bought tickets for the 4-D Movie..... Not too impressed with this 3 minute show, but you may feel differently.

I suggest that if you visit the NC Zoo, wear your walking shoes, as I'm convinced that we walked at least five miles during our trek through Africa, North America and everywhere in between!

Tickets were only $12 per person, and in my opinion a great deal for an entire day of fun.

I have drove by many times but have never stopped.  I think you have convinced me to make a day of it and enjoy the zoo.  Thanks for the information.

Amy, loved your video of the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro.  I was through Asheboro once, but wasn't aware of the zoo at that time...oh well...next time through.

Amy Hahn, you got some amazing shots!  I especially love the three monkeys in the tent.  :)D

Seriously, the Zoo looks phenominal as were your shots.  I bet you, Roger and the Tan man had an absolute blast!

Hi Amy,

I really liked the video. Was that ashot of me in the tree? LOL Looks like everyone had a blast.

Next time I'm that way I'll have to stop in and see your favorite Zoo.

Have a good evening in North Carolina.

Best, Clint McKie
