Termites in New Mexico? Yes there is. Can you hear them coming home?

At a recent home inspection in Artesia, New Mexico, I ran into termites. Not in the home it's self but they were on there way to having lunch and it's going to be on you as the home owner.

The termites were found right on the fence line next to the home. These look to be some very busy critters.

They has built capillaries all over the place. And it looked like they are headed straight for the home I was inspecting.Termites coming home for dinner.

Although these termites were found on the fence line, the fence line is only six foot from the home. Too close for comfort.

Busy termites having dinner.

Here they look to have made themselves at home. But then they eat it and move on. If in doubt, have a termite and pest control expert treat the home for any and all pests. Termites included.

Termites having lunch.

I could have gotten all fancy with this post. But this is the real deal, real life as of today.

So those capillaries are what termites build?  Fascinating.  Can't say I've ever seen this before... but then I don't spend a whole lot of time climbing under and around houses either!  Thanks for the great photos!

Hi Nancy,

As and if I remember correctly. There is termites in all fifty states. That's only a good thing for the pest control experts.

Thanks or the comment.

Hello Jeanne and Ralph,

Yes they are. They can have millions of members of a colony. And can destroy a homes integrity in months.

You never know they are there till too late.

Have a great day and a good week ahead.

Hi Jana,

This is a pretty cool thing to see. but not when it's next to your home. There is a lot of these termites in the wild. You just don't want them coming home for dinner.

Thanks you for the comment. Have a very nice week ahead.

Hi Cindy.

I was LMAO. It's cool that you don't like the critters. I don't get freaked out when I see them, but it was two homes in a row with a termite problem.

Have a good day in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Hi Joan,

They will eventually go home. Let's just hope it's not your home.

Get a termite inspection and a treatment to be safe.

Have a great day in Denver.

Clint: They are a big problem here in GA.  At the slightest hint they are near, call a professional.

Hi Adrian,

You mean to tell me you are going to call someone else? I'm shocked.

I do termite inspections here in New Mexico.

I'm cheaper than the "TERMITE GUY" and I will tell you like it is and with pictures too.

Have a great day and keep the red wine at a minimum. <:-)

Hi Anita,

When I inspect for termites I use a lot of different methods to see if I can find any.

I even have a WDO (termite) and or Wood destroying organisms Form. Plus I render a report with pictures and all.

Have a great day on the farm.

Clint,

Termites are unwanted. Thanks for the post. They creep me out. Termites are a problem here in Texas. I have never heard anyone who had anything good to say about them.

You pointed out a good reason to inspect beyond the house. They are definitely too close to the premises of this building.

You have a very keen eye and a genuine concern for doing the right thing and providing excellent information.

Thanks Clint!

Hi Patricia,

No one likes termites. I had a client last night I was trying to show her the termites and she started running away. LOL

I try and do the best thing for the client's and their homes.

Have a great day in Flower Mound, Texas.

Hello Conrad,

There seems to be a lot of termite activities this year. Just last night I had the third home in a row with the little critters wanting to have lunch and dinner.

Have a good day in Webster, MA.
