Kathy, very intelligent use of area rugs in staging a home - and I can vouch for it...

(though in one recent case, I had to request the seller to remove Area Rug, just because...)

Hi Kathy ~ Love all of the rugs in your photos -- and they certainly DO add color and interest to a home's overall appeal!

We also use 5 x 8 rugs, especially when the home has beautiful hardwood floors that we want to highlight for buyers.

Timely post for me...........we spent some time yesterday deciding which area rugs to take to The Berkshires before we made color selections for the new house.

Kathy. I love area rugs. My friend was told that her furniture did mot have to tough the rug. Doesn't suit my taste as I think it looks like scatter mats. It was the salesman who told her that and I think he was just trying to make a sale.

I love your series, Kathy!  One of the rugs you've featured on Pinterest is what I've suggested to a design client - how about that?  Great minds...

It's amazing how a rug can make a room.  My husband and I bought rugs for every room in our house (except bath and kitchen).  It was mostly to protect the hardwood floors of our 1912 craftsman home but they really look great too!

Are rugs make such a difference. For some reason men in particular seem to be adverse to them, especially if the floors are hardwoods. Really they emphasize the floors, not detract from them.

Thanks for the great post.

Beautiful work as always Kathy. Yes rugs can pull together a room in minutes. It's amazing the difference the right one can make. They add texture, color and warmth. All essential ingredients to making a space feel like home!
