Just Do Something......It Will Come

I just wanted to write a short encouraging blog. I haven't had much time to blog since the beginning of the year....I've been a little busy. I hope your year has seen a lot of activity in your Real Estate World.

I set a goal this year of completing 50 transactions and taking 52 new listings. That may not sound like a lot to some of you, but for me, a single agent with no team, that was a stretch.

Check up time - To date:

28 Closed Transactions

4 Pending Transactions

29 New Listings

I decided at the beginning of the year that I didn't have to do everything I was reading about to make a great agent... I just had to do something and it would come.

Whether it's working FSBOs or Expireds or reaching out and connecting with past clients, communication was the thing I decided to work on the most. When I reach out to my past clients (call about 10 in a week) I found out that there were about 3 of them knew someone who needed my help. When I knock on 10 doors (FSBOs or Expireds) I found 3 that wanted my assistance.

The point was, I couldn't do it all, but I needed to JUST DO SOMETHING....And IT CAME.

Hi Melissa, these are some impressive stats, especially for a single agent! It looks like what you decided to focus on is working great for you. I'm also not a friend of trying it all but picking a few things that work and doing those consistently. Much continued success to you .. looks like you are right on target!

Caron, Thanks, being helpful to FSBOs, that's right - eventually they list, keep in touch with them.

Karen, I spent a lot of time last year learning what to do and it's overwhelming. Doing something is much better than planning to do everything.

Jerry, I spent a lot of time last year trying to plan my day around all those things I wanted to do and didn't get much done. Focusing on just a couple of them and being consistent is much better. Thanks for your comments!

Tammie, I appreciate that, I really had hoped I would be able to encourage someone.

Praful, Maintaining those listings have been a challenge no doubt, but as they sell, the number goes up and down. But it's important to have some systems in place and be as organized as you can. In anticipation of a great year, I hired an assistant to do my virtual tours and maintain a lot of my online marketing. I only have her 8-10 hours per week, but it does help. I would like to build a team and get some buyer agents. That's the next goal.

Doug, It is hard to get anywhere when you don't know where you are going. Thank you.
