BEING OVERHEARD CAN BE GOOD OR BAD

If you ever have been out in public and stumbled upon a conversation or a person making a statement, it becomes interesting because people everywhere in whatever they are doing remain fascinating to hear, watch and unfortunately judge too. Some people remain more interesting and hold your attention while others repel you away with their small talk

THE COURT HALLWAYS

If you have ever visited a court house where criminal, civil, or family proceedings are being held, there is no end to the conversations, meetings and exchanges one will see and hear in the hallways outside of the court rooms. While interesting to watch people with their attorneys going back and forth, many suspicious eyes are watching you too

RETAIL OR MARKETS

In the marketplaces or retail arenas, over hearing things can prove rewarding or productive. Sales, specials, reports on the products remain of interest for anyone in that environment. Being aware and attentive to your surroundings invites you to many valuable goings on.

PERSONAL PUBLIC ARGUING

When I see or hear people arguing in public, it remains of no interest to me yet I can relate as I have been there many times with my children, friends, wife (yes) and the like. If something has to be said, it has too and we are reminded to at least communicate it with as little drama as possible. Hard, but doable.

REFUNDS AND RETURNS

I always get an ears worth when passing by the return desk of anything. Just listen quietly as different people explain why they want their money back and then take note of the item. Also pay close attention to the staff and how they handle complaints. To me, if I don't see the customer being treated a certain way, it does affect my shopping after that.

EAVESDROPPING THAT'S A NO NO

I don't eavesdrop. Don't go there either. In fact, resist that temptation to do so. Exceptions would be an abuse or an injustice. Other than that, I mind my business as I go.... aware of my surroundings and all that are in it and what may or may not apply to me

I thoroughly enjoyed your blog. I never thought of so many types of "Overhearing" as you described but was fascinated by them. I am definitely a people watcher and I'm sfraid I am a person who listens to conversations around me.
